The University of Stavanger (UiS) in collaboration with the Norwegian Society of Electric and Automatic Control (NFEA), Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet), and the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) invite you to submit a paper to SIMS 2025.

Information

SIMS 2025 will cover broad aspects of recent research and industrial development work in modelling, simulation and optimization in engineering applications. The scientific program will include technical sessions with submitted papers and industrial sessions with discussion contributions. In addition there will be keynote presentations, technical tours to industrial sites and research facilities at the organizing university and possibly one poster session.

  • Power and energy systems: For example electric power, energy storage, hydrogen technologies, fuel cells, heat pumps, industrial plants, energy use in buildings and power plants
  • Transportation: Automotive and combustion engines. Hybrid and electrical vehicles. marine and infrastructure.
  • Industrial processes including chemical processes as well as chemical process control. Both mineral and mining processing. Carbon capture as well as storage. Both oil and gas and also water treatment.
  • Cyber-physical systems. Both Fault detection and resilience. Safety as well as technical processes
  • Both biosystems and medical systems.

Specific information for discussion paper submission

  • For submissions with the goal of being presented at the conference, without generating a scientific publication
  • Industrial contributions are especially encouraged, but we welcome submissions also from academia and research
  • Discussion papers should be 2 pages long and contain sufficient information for their thorough evaluation
  • Discussion papers will NOT be included in the conference proceedings and thus NOT be published on IFAC-PapersOnLine

is located next to DNB Arena, the home of the Stavanger Oilers Hockey Team, close to one of the main roads in Stavanger the hotel is easily accessible by public transportation with busses to downtown every 5 minutes during conference hours. The hotel has easy access to nearby attractions, making it convenient for family outings. Examples of nearby attractions: Sword in Rock, a commemorative monument of a historic Viking battle featuring three 10-meter-tall bronze swords planted into solid rock (30 min walking distance).
